Along with this, Insulkote also provides increased heat transfer reduction, and works as shielding when applied as a basecoat under high temperature coatings. Formulated to reduce heat transfer, Insulkote offers long-term protection against metal fatigue, corrosion, and deterioration. Insulkote increases performance and horsepower by increasing heat scavenging during the exhaust cycle. Extensive testing with Insulkote has shown heat transfer reduction of up to 55% when used on the inside and outside of exhaust systems, and then top coated with either “C” or “V” Series High Temperature Ceramic Coatings. Due to the smooth finish of the coating, Insulkote increases exhaust gas velocity while being able to withstand temperatures in excess of 1800ºF. Insulkote is designed for ease of application, extreme performance, and durability in a single component, oven cure system.
